Ernie Simmons Award Nominations
Submit Yours Today!

Well, I'm sure that you must be pretty busy right now with LTC practices, convention registration, hotel reservations, etc, etc. However, we want to remind everyone that nominations for the Ernie Simmons Award are due soon. All of us know someone that has dedicated many hours to LTC.
It could be as a Church Coordinator or maybe as the Chorus director, or maybe the person that has coordinated ALL of your pre-convention events.
So, are you getting any ideas about who you can nominate? Won't you please take a few minutes to think about who has worked hard for the LTC program at your congregation? Everything you need to know is in the LTCSW Reference Manual which can be downloaded right here. You can submit your nominations via email or via snail mail (regular US Mail.)
I look forward to hearing from you!!

More about the Ernie Simmons Award
HISTORY: Ernie Simmons was instrumental in bringing the Leadership Training for Christ program to the southwestern United States. (Please read the "HOW THE LTC SOUTHWEST REGION GOT STARTED" page.) Literally, hundreds of people have been affected by the actions of this incredible man. It is through the direct results of Ernie Simmons that many, many children and teenagers have had a chance to develop their talents for God and as a result feel more like a contributing member of His church.
In 2003 Ernie Simmons went to be with his Lord. He left a legacy that is an example for all of us to follow. To honor Ernie and all that he has done for the LTC program, the LTC-Southwest region board of directors has created an award in his name. The Ernie Simmons Award has been created as a way of honoring other adults that have also given so much of their time and talents to the LTC program.
CRITERIA: The following information should be used as a guideline for nominating adults for the Ernie Simmons Award.
- Any adult that has been actively involved with the LTC program is eligible to be nominated. Their involvement can have been at the local congregation level and/or at the regional level.
- Adults, LTC participants, Elders, Deacons, etc may nominate someone for this award. However, a person may only submit one nomination form per year.
- The nomination forms should not be interpreted as ‘votes’. The more nomination forms received for a person will give the board more information to base their decision upon, but the person with the most nomination forms may not necessarily receive the award.
- The Ernie Simmons Award is to honor those who have gone the extra mile in serving God and the children within the LTC program. Therefore, it is possible that the award will not be given out each year if the board feels that none of the nominees met the intent of the award.
- Once a person receives the award they should not be re-nominated for at least 7 years.
- Nominees not receiving the award must be resubmitted each year. Forms are not carried over.
- The current LTC-Southwest Chairman of the Board is not eligible to be nominated.
