Radio Minute Message 2008

PURPOSE: The Radio Minute Message is designed to challenge the participant in using a medium that is powerful in today's world but where time is of the essence. The participant is to design and present a radio spot on audio cassette which would reach out to the community and encourage them with the message of Christ in relation to the current year's LTC theme.
PROCESS: Each participant will:
- Participate only as an individual
- Share a brief thought
- Record that thought on an audio cassette tape or CD
- Mail the following to the Event Director:
- Audio Cassette tape or CD
- Cover sheet
- Three copies of the message script
- A stamped postcard with the Church Coordinator's mailing address if receipt confirmation is requested.
THE PACKAGE MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MONDAY, February 25, 2008
The Event Director will:
- Send confirmation of receipt to the Church Coordinator if a stamped postcard is included
- Organize the tapes for judging
- Return the judging and critique sheets to the Pre-Convention Director with all award recommendations
- Make all entries available for listening at the convention
RULES:
- Time is of the essence. Your congregation has paid for a 60 second radio spot. If your message is longer than 60 seconds, the radio station will charge your congregation extra, and you will be penalized 5 points. This time will start with the first recorded sound (voice, music, or special effect) on the tape and end with the last recorded sound. If the spoken message on the tape is shorter than 45 seconds, your congregation will not have received its money's worth, and you will be penalized 3 points. This may include vocal music ONLY if it is clearly the participant doing the singing.
- The 45 to 60 seconds of the main message of the tape must be in the participant's voice. NO adult voices will be on the tape.
- Background music, special effects, etc., are permitted.
SUBMISSION:
- Submit only one Radio Minute Message per audio cassette or CD.
- Typed documentation to accompany each tape submitted should include a cover sheet with:
Name
Grade
Congregation
Congregation Address
Congregation Phone Number
Name of Church Coordinator
Church Coordinator Phone Number - The participant's name should be on the cassette tape. The cover sheet, 3 typed scripts and tape are to be mailed to the Event Director at the address on the top of these instructions.
- All materials, including the scripts and audio cassettes or CDs become the property of LTC-SW. It is understood that LTC-SW reserves the right to use these materials for promotion and instruction or any other manner deemed appropriate by the LTC-SW Board of Directors.
AWARDS:
- Each participant will be rated by the following scale:
Gold = 95 100 points, Silver = 85 94 points, Bronze = 70 84 points; No Award = 0-69 points - Participants who achieve a Gold, Silver, or Bronze rating will receive an appropriate colored engraved plate for the individual's award plaque.
