Rules for All Pre-convention Events 2008

  1. All mail-in events must be postmarked by Monday, February 25, 2008. (This is the final deadline for Pre-Convention Events. See item 5 below for registration deadlines.)

  2. Each event entry must be mailed to the Event Director listed in the rules (any address changes will be sent to the Church Coordinator).

  3. Receipt of Awards - Awards will be included in the Convention Take Home Packet or mailed to the Church Coordinator if not at the convention.

  4. Unless specifically stated in the particular pre-convention event rules, there are three grade categories:

    Grades 3 - 5,   Grades 6 - 8,   Grades 9 - 12

    A participant may move up to an older category, but an older participant may not move down to a younger category. If any team member is in the older category the team must participate at the older level

  5. Pre-Convention participants who will be attending the LTC-SW Convention will also need to read and be aware of the "Rules For All Convention Events" located later in this manual.

  6. Participants who will not be in attendance at the LTC-SW Convention should send in the $40.00 registration fee, along with the fees of those who are attending the convention. The fee is required whether you attend the convention or not, and allows a participant to enter as many or as few events as they desire. DO NOT SEND CHECKS TO THE EVENT DIRECTOR.

    Remember: The REGISTRATION FEES must be POSTMARKED no later than FEBRUARY 11TH, 2008.

  7. Don't forget! Applications for scholarships must be in by Wednesday, March 12, 2008.

AWARDS:

  1. Each congregation registering participants for the LTC-SW Pre-Convention and/or Convention events will receive a Congregational Award Plaque engraved with the current year's LTC theme. Only one Congregational Award Plaque will be given to each congregation.

  2. Each congregation will receive a metal plate to hang from the Congregational Award Plaque for each event participated in, regardless of the number of participants in the event or the participants' awards.

  3. Each Pre-Convention and/or Convention participant will receive an LTC-SW Participant's Award Plaque engraved with the current year's theme, place, and date.

  4. Each participant will receive one of the following award ratings for each event, based upon the average of three Judges' scores for that event. An appropriately colored engraved plate for the Participant's Award Plaque will be awarded to each participant receiving a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Rating. Unless specifically stated in the event, the ratings are:

    Gold = 95-100 points   Silver = 85-94 points   Bronze = 70-84 points   No Award = 0-69 points

The Event Directors have the authority to over-ride award recommendations.
